Workshops and Adventure Days on Dartmoor, near the village of Holne

At Adventures with Horses workshops, adventure days and sessions you will be engaging with the horses in natural surrounding - the venue is not a commercial equestrian centre, though it does have all the right facilities, and is professionally run, it offers a peaceful, quiet, private, safe, undisturbed space to be with horses.

Adventures with Horses is run from a beautiful private stables surrounded by 10 acres, nestled in a sheltered ancient farm settlement, with beautiful views across the moor and woodland valley down to the river Dart. It is peaceful and quiet, mostly the only noises you will hear are from ‘other than humans’; horses, sheep, a chorus of bird song, and the sound of the springs and leats that feed the horses with natural water. Being on Dartmoor it also has a wild aliveness, which is unique to rural areas where the soil quality and granite holds a resilience to too much cultivation. The Granite Tors, the Oak and the Ash, all speak of a far different dimension of time, whilst the views themselves seem to instil an understanding that everything is cyclical and interconnected.

There are also modern day luxuries! An arena with a wonderful surface to work with the horses in, and plenty of buildings to shelter in and heating if the weather is bad. Refreshments are provided including lunch for full day workshops and Adventure days.

For participants coming from a distance, or coming on a 2 or 3 days workshop, there is plenty of choices of places to stay for bed and breakfast, or if you prefer to stay out in the elements there is also a camping field in walking distance.
